Physical medicine, also known as physiatry, is a medical specialty focusing on diagnosis, evaluation, and management of patients with physical disabilities. The primary goal of the physiatrist is to help patients reach their maximum physical, psychological, social, and vocational function through comprehensive rehabilitation.
