Being mobile is key to good health and wellness. Hip pain or injury can severely limit mobility and hinder everyday activities. The physicians at Dedicated Orthopedic Center provide a comprehensive exam and provide patients with the full scope of possible treatments based on the severity of the hip injury.
Hip Replacement
This surgical procedure replaces the worn out surfaces of the hip with man-made components. There are many types of hip implants and surgical techniques for hip replacement surgery including anterior hip replacement. This technique utilizes an incision along the front of the hip. The location of the incision allows physicians to perform the procedure without detaching the muscles or tendons. Your physician will work with you to determine the best implant and treatment options for your hip.
Following Hip Replacement Surgery
Patients are provided a comprehensive recovery and rehabilitation plan that will include rest and avoiding stressing the hip immediately following the procedure. The recovery plan can include physical therapy, walking and other activities to strengthen the hip and muscles. In many cases, certain activities are not recommended for three to four weeks in order to not injure the hip.
Physicians provide a specific recovery plan based on each individual patient’s needs.
